Welcome to our wedding website! Thank you for visiting! This is the place where you can find all of the information you will need for our wedding such as information about the cermony and reception, travel accommodations, directions, activities for the weekend and more. Check back often as possible as we will be continuing to make updates throughout the year. Please make sure we have your updated physical and email address. Due to space and budget limitations we had to make concessions to our guest list. We wish we could have invited everyone to share our day. Thanks again to all of our family and friends for your love and support. We look forward to seeing you all in November
August 22, 2016 was supposed to be a fun Thursday night out with my girl Les! We agreed to meet up with a friend who was out with her “Man” and his friends at Tilted Kilt in Temecula, CA. We were heading over to the bar when out of nowhere this tall handsome man bee lined over and offered to buy us drinks. We talked and danced all night. There were instant sparks and chemistry. After the bar we headed over to Primo’s to grab a bite to eat before heading home. Demetrice was a complete gentleman and I knew he wasn’t from California. Everyone was having a good time until one of his associates had a disagreement with a patron looking for trouble. After they left the good times continued…Until the guy came back in, masked with a crew and an AK47. Everyone scattered looking for safety and unfortunately I was assulted. Thankfully, God was with us that night because we all got out alive. Something about how that traumatic experience turned a stranger into an instant friend. He stayed in contact with me daily to make sure I was feeling better after what happened. We quickly began to spend time together with some of the others that survived that night. Over the following weeks we continued to build the foundation of our relationship despite the 50+ miles between us.
It was an ordinary Christmas Eve! We’d spend it with my family in Carson, CA as we’d done the previous year. Little did I know this was far from an ordinary Christmas Eve! Demetrice had jumped through hoops at work to get Christmas off drom work! It was his first real visit home since his move to Chicago. We’d spent the weekend with friends but Christmas Eve was reserved for family! As a part of our Thanksgiving tradition we’ve always pulled names after dinner for our Christmas Eve gift exchange & this would be his first time participating. After we all fixed our plates to eat Shaunda grabbed the microphone to start off the exchange. Shaunda had pulled Demetrice and he opened his gift. I knew because I pulled for Demetrice and he had Ashley...or so I thought! Demetrice grabs a gift that I knew I didn’t wrap and out of nowhere my mom appeared! I don’t remember much after Demetrice saying he’d “asked my dad for my hand in marriage before he left for Chicago”. Before I knew it Demetrice was down on one knee in front of me nervously shaking & placing a ring on my finger! Christmas Eve had turned out to be nothing short of Extraordinary!
