We met in a baptism class at Promise Church, two hearts arriving separately, both seeking Him. What we thought was simply obedience was, in truth, divine orchestration. Two days later we stepped into the water, saved by His grace, never imagining that our love story had already begun. For nearly four years, Angel lived close by Promise Church, driving past it without ever truly seeing the building. Until one Sunday morning, God awakened him from his sleep with a clear call: Go to Church. And that Sunday morning he faithfully walked through the doors, expecting more of His word and what God has planned for him. A year and half earlier, Summer had relocated to Central Florida. She prayed faithfully for a home church. A place where she could grow, serve, and belong. Soon after, she was invited to a ladies conference at Promise Church, a building tucked quietly into a neighborhood. Though it meant commuting forty-five minutes, she felt led to stay. She didn’t fully understand why, but she remained faithful and obedient to Him. Unaware that what felt unhurried was something eternal unfolding. One was being awakened. One was being positioned. Our obedience was clearly drawing us toward each other. Not long after following baptism day, we went on our first date. What began as separate walks with Christ, slowly became one shared journey of trust, faith, friendship and love. The same God who met us in the water began leading us toward covenant. Nearly two years after rising from the water, we will stand before Him again, this time hand in hand, in the presence of our loved ones to say “ I Do”. Our love was never rushed. It was revealed.
