We're so excited to celebrate with you

We met through a mutual friend (shoutout to Summer's college roommate Lizzie!) while attending Penn State in 2014. On our first date we shared a pizza and talked about the usual things (likes, dislikes, family, etc.) but what really stood out was our mutual love of ducks. We both knew shortly after, that this could really be something.

Driving to Penn State for the annual Arts Festival, I had never been more nervous in my life. I couldn't go two minutes without reaching down to my pocket to make sure the ring was still there. It was a hot day, mobs of people everywhere, but Summer was on a mission to find a new silver ring at one of the many festival boutiques. We ventured from stand to stand, but there just wasn't one that stood out. Disappointed, hot, and hungry, we decided to take a break and visit the duck pond, our favorite spot on campus where we had talked and laughed for hours years ago. Although there wasn't a duck to be seen, we found a familiar bench and took cover from the sun. As people continued to pass us by, we made our way over to another small garden by the pond. Relieved to finally have a minute to ourselves, the time was finally right. I got down on one knee and asked my best friend and love of my life to marry me. Tears coming down her face, Summer said "Of course I will!" Summer's search for that one special ring was over and the pit I had in my stomach all day was finally gone. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I can't wait for what's next for us.

In light of COVID-19 we have decided to still get married on our original date with just immediate family. We wanted to ensure the health and safety of our guests so the celebration will come later!
