Matron of Honor
Shaina has been my best friend since the day I was born (we just didn't know it till we were past the teenage years). She's played so many roles in my life from a moral compass, confidant, cheerleader, to a second mother - overall, she's just been the most incredible support system a little sister could ask for. I'm so lucky that she'll be my matron of honor.
Best Man
Never a dull day with this guy. Arhum was always the one pushing me harder. We ran so many court sprints we injured ourselves, stayed up nights playing table tennis, and looked out for each other during college in a new city. A man with a taste for the finer things in life, Arhum also introduced me to a whole new world- whether it was top-rated restaurants in NYC, Chelsea boots, or fast fashion (I apparently still have a long way to go).
Bridesmaid
A friendship that feels much older than it is, when I'm with Aida it's instantly a good time. She is an incredibly loyal friend who once waited hours at an Apple store for me so I could get to another appointment.
Groomsman
I had about 10 minutes alone in the world, and then I got an instant best friend. Nabil and I spent our childhood wearing oversized identical clothes and playing the same sports. Back then, I never realized how important it was to have somebody in the same boat for literally everything. Growing up, I would always get asked what it's like to have a twin and not know the answer. Now, I know it's something I would never live without.
Bridesmaid
Ailya is the cool sister I didn't have (jk Shaina) and my favorite travel buddy. She talks to me and cares for me as only a sister does - I don't know where I'd be without her.
Groomsman
Witty, sharp-tongued, and unforgivably blunt, Allan has given me more laughs than I can count. He's also been there for some of the best and worst moments of med school and beyond. He's been a brother to me ever since. Also my Halloween costume pal (Harold and Kumar, Pulp Fiction, more to come...).
Bridesmaid
My perfect roommate match - I am so thankful to have lived with this amazing human. When I was ten, I asked my mom if I could start wearing antiperspirant so I could be like Asma Zuberi.
Groomsman
A chance meeting at a mutual friend's party gave me a friendship I wish I had much earlier. Whether it's eating Lebanese tapas, sipping overpriced coffee in BK like the hipsters we are, or bouncing career ideas off of each other, Anan has always been a source of happiness and fun in my life.
Bridesmaid
We met at Sunday school but bonded at Milton High in Poli Sci. Bilan is a forever friend who knows me better than I know myself and lights up every room she walks in.
Groomsman
I first met Henry in college and only then realized what I had missed out on. Eccentric, caring, and brilliant, he never fails to entertain. Nine years later, we're still taking strolls by Central Park like nothing's changed.
Bridesmaid
It was tough to transition from being neighbors to long-distance friends, but our friendship is as special and strong as ever over a decade later. I'm so grateful for the number of times she has hopped on a last-minute flight for important life events.
Groomsman
As Jack will never let me forget, I didn't recognize him the second time I saw him. We knew each other tangentially in college but became roommates in med school. A StarCraft diamond player, bourbon connoisseur, and Master Chef, Jack always brought the skills and good vibes with him.
Bridesmaid
I am so lucky to have lived with this amazing person who has taken care of me and taught me so much. Cat has always looked out for my best interest and has been the voice of reason behind some of my best decisions
Groomsman
A founding father of the Hentlemen squad, Omeed and I met one of the first nights of med school. Between obscure card games and billiard shots that bordered between sheer luck and genius, a friendship was born. We've experienced so much since that I can't even put it into words. Couldn't imagine life without this guy.
Bridesmaid
Other than Danial, Lisa is my soulmate. We went from sharing a room to being on opposite sides of the country to being back in the same city, and she's always felt so close to me. Our favorite things to do together are nap and eat chips.
Groomsman
Reza and I met by chance at Bard Gym. Persian tea, KTown meetups, and deep conversations followed ever since with one of the most sensitive and earnest people I've ever met.
Bridesmaid
Maheen is one of my honorary older sisters. She inspires me with her endless optimism and has always enthusiastically pushed me towards things that are good for me.
Groomsman
Ruchir and I knew each other in 5th grade, then never saw each other until our freshman year of college. I'll never forget that moment, it seemed like an eternity recognizing the similarities and taking in the differences at the same time. Never looked back since, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Bridesmaid
Another sister of mine, Mavara has been an incredible role model for me. It was friendship at first sight for us that night at Sufi's and I'm so grateful for it.
Groomsman
Saul is the type of person that brightens every room he walks into, and it's not just the perfect teeth. Endless walks downtown and nights full of deep talks followed. I'm so grateful for the happy-go-lucky friend I made on the later side and excited for all the good times to come.
Bridesmaid
This bubbly person tapped on my shoulder during an early admissions event at Emory, and we've been friends ever since. I truly miss living with Mythilee and having her eavesdrop at my door to make sure I was awake and studying.
Groomsman
Shreyas is one of the most quietly caring people I've ever met. Our friendship blossomed after high school, and seeing him is always a highlight of being back home.
Bridesmaid
We went from goofing off in AP Calculus in our late teens to goofing off in workout classes in our late twenties. Rachel is the kind of friend who brings you flowers when something good happens or when something bad happens, and I feel so lucky to have her in my life.
Groomsman
One of my first best friends, Vig and I grew up together in Alpharetta. Tons of high school dances, neighborhood football games, and movie nights later, he's still one of the first people I call when I'm back home.
Bridesmaid
As teens, Sami and I pulled all-nighters and had about a million inside jokes via Skype. As adults, she's somebody who feels like home whenever we talk and I'll always cherish that.
Bridesman
Murtaza is the brother I always needed, and I'm so blessed to have him in my life. I can count on him for literally anything and sometimes we can communicate telepathically.
Bridesmaid
I can't imagine my life without Shreya. Her advice has led to good choices and amazing memories. She has been such a critical and constant person in my life since we were kids, and I'm honestly just grateful to be associated with her because she's really cool.
Bridesman
Rohan was my partner in crime for so many fun undergrad memories. He is a great friend and always keeps me laughing - I can't wait to live in the same city as him again.
