The Holud (which means "turmeric" in Bengali) is a joyful pre-wedding celebration filled with color, music, and laughter. What began as a simple, homespun ritual to prepare the couple for marriage has evolved into a cherished Bengali wedding tradition. During the event, loved ones take turns applying turmeric paste to the couple’s skin — a gesture meant to bless, purify, and bring good fortune. Expect vibrant outfits, lots of South Asian food, dancing, and an evening full of festivities with friends and family!

The weekend continues with a intimate indoor marriage ceremony, where the couple will exchange vows surrounded by their closest family and friends. Lunch will follow immediately after — a chance to relax, mingle, and continue the festivities together.

The evening festivities will begin with a cocktail hour from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by the reception. Guests will enjoy a seated dinner, drinks, and dancing, along with heartfelt toasts and special moments throughout the night. It will be an evening of fun, love, and celebration, surrounded by the couple’s nearest and dearest.
