I came back from vacation, walked into work and saw this guy sitting at one of the desks. We shared a quick smile and I walked to my coworkers to ask if we were being audited. Good news, it was just the new guy from the east coast. Once I realized he was part of the team, we hit it off. After introductions, I found out he lived close to me in Los Angeles. Being the new guy to both work and to the city; I decided to show him around and show him the Angelino ways. There was a very genuine and caring friendship that grew from our daily interactions.
How do you propose to someone you carpool to work with, work in the same department with, eat lunch with, and live with? That was the challenge he found himself with. As life would have it, work send me across the country for a project and the timing couldn’t have been better. My birthday fell on that weekend I returned home. So with already made plans for a birthday dinner; he popped the question right before. Far from my mind was the idea that he would be proposing so when he dropped down on one knee I was concerned he had some type of thigh or knee injury. To my surprise it was a ring! I couldn’t believe it, he pulled it off and surprised me with the best birthday gift I could ask for.
We’re very excited for this new journey in our lives. Every step has happened so gradual and has felt natural. We can’t wait to share this special moment alongside friends and family.
