FAQs

Question

How many times did you two date?

Answer

4 or 5, depending on who you ask.

Question

That sounds a little personal.

Answer

It’s not, Amanda doesn’t count two dates we went on in 2017 as “dating.”

Question

Why Newport, RI?

Answer

It made sense in a lot of different ways. East Coast, accessible, great venue that had an opening in the Fall, 2021, etc.

Question

When should I book my hotel reservation?

Answer

If you haven’t already booked, ASAP. It’s a popular Summer and Fall destination so hotel rooms can fill up fast. If you have ANY issues booking, please call or text Amanda at 518.421.1480.

Question

How many people are coming to this wedding?

Answer

Somewhere between 140-170.

Question

Kids?

Answer

To the ceremony/wedding reception and welcome drink, no. To the brunch, yes.

Question

There’s a welcome drink and brunch?

Answer

Yes, more on that below. Also, check out the ‘Schedule’ tab.

Question

But I’m bringing my kids, what should I do with them?

Answer

A reputable child care service in the area was recommended to us: http://newportnannies.com. Please let us know if you are interested in sharing child care with another couple attending the wedding – perhaps we can match you up.

Question

What’s the best spot to fly into?

Answer

Providence, RI (PVD) is a beautiful airport which is about 30 minutes away. Taxis and Ubers are the best mode of transportation to and from Newport. Check out their webpage: https://www.pvdairport.com.

Question

I can’t find a flight into Providence, RI. What now?

Answer

The next best alternatives are Boston-Logan International or Hartford-Bradley International (both about an hour and half away).

Do they have Airbnb, VRBO, etc. in Newport, RI?

Answer

Yes, we recommend staying close to downtown though.

I booked a room at the HoJo (Howard Johnson’s by Wyndam) - will there be transportation provided to the wedding?

Question

Is there anything else planned for the wedding weekend?

Answer

Glad you asked! Yes, there will be a welcome drink on Friday night (9/10/21) and a Sunday brunch (9/12/21). Please see the ‘Schedule’ tab. There are also lots of activities and bars/restaurants included on the ‘Thing to Do’ tab – check it out!

Question

There’s been no mention of COVID so far. Is your head in the sand?

Answer

No, but September seems like a safe time period at this point – we’re being optimistic! If things change or there are safety protocols, we’ll keep you in the loop.

Question

I don't see a meal option on your wedding invitation - what if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please let us know details ahead of time and the venue can prepare a special meal - text Amanda at 518.421.1480.
