First comes the parties, then the travels, and now marriage! They met at the Berkeley Haas Halloween party in 2018. He was dressed up as Captain America, and she was Alice in Wonderland. At that time we didn’t think much of it and had a good time with our friends. Then they met again in Tahoe for a ski trip, and he was the designated driver, driving all the way from San Francisco to Sacramento to Tahoe. After the ski trip, they kept in touch and that’s pretty much when they thought, “Okay, this could be something.”

He planned a hike to Harpers Ferry in West Virginia, and she was complaining about all the work she had that day. During the hike, Kevin was having a really hard time with his allergies because of all the springtime pollen in the air! Laura asked “Do you want to go to the hospital or go back? You look very sick!” and Kevin replied “No, I can do this! *sniff* *sniff* (all teary)” So we hiked all the way to the top and he suddenly took out a ring box from his hiking backpack. He blows his nose couple of times, clears his watery eyes and proposed to Laura on top of Harpers Ferry.
