YES! If you do not have one, we suggest you apply for one ASAP as they generally take 7-10 weeks to arrive after application submission. If you already have one, we recommend double checking that the expiration date is plenty after your planned travel dates.
Although it is possible, there is a $100 per person fee for a day pass for each day you would plan to spend at Sandos for wedding activities.
No, you should not. Round trip transportation to and from the airport and resort is included in our room block rates. The resort is a less than 10 minute walk to the heart of the Cabo San Lucas Marina where you can check out local restaurants, bars and other excursions. If you want to venture out further, Ubers are available and the hotel can help arrange private transportation if required.
There will be some sort of a welcome gathering the night before the wedding at the resort. In addition, we would love to have a fun day at the resort pool with all of you the day after the wedding! Once we understand everyone's travel logistics, we may provide a few group activity/excursion options for anyone who is interested.
Technically, you can use either Mexican Pesos or US dollars to pay for things in Cabo. While USD is widely accepted, you generally won’t get as good of an exchange rate, and you’ll end up overpaying slightly. Also, each bar and restaurant might have their own exchange rate. Mexican pesos is the local currency that should be used in Cabo, and you’ll get a better rate by paying in pesos.
All food and drinks are included WITHIN the resort so you will not need cash or credit to pay for meals or drinks. With that being said, the servers and bartenders are still working hard to make your stay great so we highly recommend having small bills (either in US Dollars or Mexican Pesos) so you can leave tips as you so choose during your stay. From experience, bartender tips up front go a long way for to ensure the best and stiffest drinks :) Here is what google thinks about tipping amount guidance in Mexico: Tipping in Mexico is pretty straightforward, 10 to 15 percent of your bill is standard. At a restaurant we calculate the tip percentage we would like to pay and then round it up to the nearest bill to make it quick and easy. And if you’re at an all inclusive resort, it’s typical to tip the bartenders or pool servers about 10 pesos per drink. Or, hand them a 100 peso bill and that will keep the drinks flowing for a while! f you’re staying at an all inclusive resort, you will only need about 100 pesos per day per person for tips (I’d say this is minimum). Of course, you are always welcome to tip more than that.
Yes. Although we would love to have you all join us for our wedding, we understand that travel may not be feasible to all. We will have some sort of a local, informal celebration in the summer of 2023 to celebrate with those special to us who cannot make the trip to Cabo.
Do NOT drink tap water in Mexico. Always ensure you are drinking bottled water only which is easy to find and ask for at resorts and restaurants. Ice at the resort is purified so it is safe in your drinks. It is okay to brush your teeth with the tap water if you don't swallow it BUT to be safe you can also use bottled water for this as well to avoid an upset stomach that could ruin your trip.
