It's the typical love story of our time, they met on Hinge, but with a twist. Jason knew who Meghan was, they worked at the same company and had crossed paths in the stairwell once or twice and seen each other's names on Team calls and emails occasionally. Meghan was a bit more oblivious; it didn't click for her exactly who this "Jason" on Hinge was until after a couple days of messaging back and forth. After connecting the dot's, she thought he'd drop her for sure (too weird dating a coworker right..?), but instead, he planned their first date. The date started at 1912 in Benson and moved on to Barchen as the conversation came easily. A second date at Gold Mountain was planned soon after, which sealed the deal.
Quick preface, Jason is amazing at planning surprises. Both big and small, this is a fairly regular occurrence (which Meghan absolutely loves). Onto the story. It was a normal weekday, Meghan asked Jason if they had anything going on that weekend, he said he had a surprise planned. Meghan didn't think much of this, she wasn't expecting anything big since there was no occasion, but she was excited for any surprise. She asked what to wear, Jason said "something casual". Very helpful. Saturday came, they hopped in the car and ended up at the Joslyn Art museum. It had just undergone renovations, and Meghan had mentioned wanting to visit. It was the perfect activity for a 90+ degree day. While perusing the art, Meghan asked about lunch (she was getting hungry). Jason said he already had special plans for that too. Two surprises in one day?? Meghan started to get suspicious but happily went along. Lunch was on the patio at La Buvette, where they shared a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board (the easiest way to win Meghan's heart). It had been a wonderful day, and Meghan assumed that they would be heading home soon. She asked about dinner, Jason said he already had plans for something to cook at home. Now she was onto him. They went home (he had already gotten all the groceries the day before and hidden them in the fridge), made the most delicious baked ziti (a recreation of the first dinner he had ever made for her), and finished it off with warm brownies and ice cream. Afterwards, he got down on one knee and proposed in the middle of their living room, in the home they shared together. It was intimate, meaningful, and perfect. It was an easy yes.
