Isaac and Sue's story began on June 2019 when Isaac asked Sue to volunteer for the youth mission trip. Through the mission trip, Sue and Isaac had plenty of opportunity to get to know each other. Sue got to see how easy going Isaac was even in stressful situations, and how he always managed to have a smile on his face. When they talked, they realized their shared interests for films, books, food, and spanish. Eventually, Isaac asked Sue to grab coffee, and they had their first date on July 25th. One date naturally led to many more. They decided to make it official on October 1st, and they have been talking ever since.

Isaac and Sue went to Baltimore during their Spring Break to visit Sue's friend, Anna and Isaac's brother. While in Baltimore, Isaac planned on proposing to Sue on the second day they were there. His plans got pushed back as their dinner with Isaac's brother and his friend ended very late. While driving Sue back to Anna's apartment, Sue noticed Isaac missed a left turn on the GPS. She pointed it out to him, and he casually said, "Oh yeah I missed it," as if he purposely missed the turn. "I want to take a walk," he said and parked his car on a street alongside Inner Harbor. They started walking, the harbor was very pretty with lights that were lit up against the boardwalk in the serene of the night. They continued to walk on a bridge as they talked about their future: would they be able to follow God even when things got hard? Sue said yes, even if she fell away from God for a period of time, she was confident that He would bring her back. When they got to the middle of the bridge, Isaac stopped suddenly and looked like he was very nervous. He got on one knee, "Then do you want to follow God the rest of your life with me?" Sue was distracted by the bright light coming the ring box, and she did not answer right away. Isaac asked her, "Is that a yes?" She answered, "Yes, yes I would love to."
