Don't forget the endless activities included with your stay at the ranch! Mini golf, swimming, hiking, climbing, archery, pickleball, ping pong, roller skating, check out the library, tubing, and so much more :) We triple-dog-dare you to slide down the tubing hill or hike to the waterfall, make this your dream Colorado weekend.
One of America's most awe-inspiring National Parks, we implore you to visit this special spot where we said "I love you" for the first time. Drive "Trail Ridge Road" up above 12,000 feet to the visitors center- you can even follow this road all the way to Estes Park. The drive is about 3 hours round trip and the wildflowers, views, and wildlife are unmatched!
At the base of winter park resort you will find coffee shops, restaurants, shopping and the famous waffle cabin. Enjoy a beer at Doc's Roadhouse at the base and maybe catch a glimpse of the resident moose! Take the scenic gondola to 10,000 ft for a breathtaking, panoramic view of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Continental Divide. The gondola is free from 4-7pm on the weekends to enjoy happy hour at the peak (tickets for sale at the ticket office outside these hours for $40 or admission included with valid IKON pass).
One of the first stops on the first weekend we ever went away together. Since then, its been a tradition to enjoy a latte by the lake. We dare you to try a breakfast burrito and yes- you should get it smothered in green chili. Kate's order: Iced Cafe Mocha Brandon's order: Huckleberry Mocha
Our favorite spot to share a pie and a pitcher after a day on the slopes. You will notice honey on the tables- try it on the crust to enjoy your pizza "Colorado Style". A true mountain ski town gem. The first time we stayed at Snow Mountain Ranch, we came here to watch a Celtics playoff game and talked allll about how lovely it would be to get married there ;)
The most iconic treat after a ski day, ya can’t leave winter park without one!
Worth stopping in at this world-renowned music venue on your way into the mountains. Open daily, sunrise-sunset (if there is a show that night, parking lots close at 2pm) Inside scoop- drive up and park at the north lot to avoid the stairs, or challenge yourself to walk up the 383 steps and start down at the stage! The top of red rocks is a beautiful spot to watch the sun rise
Stop in for a one-hour wildlife drive through the bison pastures if you are in the Denver area. One of Kate's favorite spots when she first moved here to watch the sunset. 360 degree mountain views and true "colorful colorado" sunsets
Our FAVORITE spot to grab a cocktail and a bite in all of Denver. Right on the corner of Tejon and 32nd lies this great speakeasy. Reservations recommended. They even opened up a location at the airport, if you don't have time to visit while in town! Kate's Drink- Espresso Martini Brandon's Drink- Blackberry Sage Smash MUST TRY- Malt Gastrique Fries, French Onion Soup, Brownie Sundae
If you’re looking for something to do while in the metro area, take in the beauty the botanical gardens have to offer.
Can take the train from the airport, right downtown to Union Station, and explore the city. From Union Station, head to the Dairy Block to explore restaurants and shopping, MgGregor Square, Larimer Square, and the 16th Street Mall
