I hate to admit it but we owe it all to Tinder! One night, while swiping through the never ending hell site that is Tinder I came across something different. Staring back at me was Nick’s profile. And amongst his photos was one of him, smiling and wearing a tiara and feather boa (playing dress up with his nieces)! I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself and think about how sweet it was. I knew I had to give this guy a chance. I swiped right and we matched instantly! We chatted for hours, communicating effortlessly. Soon, Nick asked for my number and then to take me to dinner and I excitedly agreed. However, you may find it funny to know that by the time I was getting to the restaurant, I was ready to call it off. I thought surely this would be another date that goes nowhere! The thought of going home to my pjs and dinner in bed with my favorite show began to feel very tempting. Politeness won out however, and I’m so glad it did! I will never forget seeing Nick walk up in his green sweater, looking so sweet but so nervous. And as he got closer I noticed something in his hand. After greeting me he held up a red rose that he made himself, one that would last forever. As I took this rose that he had made, and sprayed with his cologne, I felt all anxiety wash away. Suddenly it was easy, as if we’d been looking for each other all along. Ever since that night, we have laughed, cried, learned, and loved harder than ever before. And we cannot wait for all of you to join us on the happiest day of our lives! -Jill The first moment of the rest of my life began scrolling on Tinder with my dog when we happened upon Jill. From moment one she was perfect; silly, smart, and beautiful, and that was before we even met. She agreed to a date in Hammond and as the time approached I did as well (nervously). Love at first sight is an understatement, she asked for my hand up the stairs into the restaurant and I haven’t let go since. We stayed much later than we originally planned, dinner, dessert, and chatting in the car til the parking lot emptied around us. Soon after we met I began working out of town, but Jill reminded me daily that she was waiting for me. Jill has pushed me to be better at every turn, we have a vision for our future and no matter what comes I know we will take on our challenges together hand-in-hand just like we walked into that first date. I didn’t know I could be surrounded by a love like I know from Jill. She truly is the light of my life. My heart has never been so full as now, these past years a blur of small battles and triumphs hand-in-hand as we stand before you ready to pledge our love together for all of you to see. -Nick
