Natchez Trace Multi-Use Trail
"The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile recreational road and scenic drive through three states. It roughly follows the "Old Natchez Trace" a historic travel corridor used by American Indians, "Kaintucks," European settlers, slave traders, soldiers, and future presidents. Today, people can enjoy not only a scenic drive but also hiking, biking, horseback riding, and camping along the parkway." (NPS.gov) If you feel like going for a hike, walk, or run, this multi-use trail off of the Natchez Trace Parkway is the perfect place to get out and enjoy the scenery while getting some exercise!
Ross R Barnett Reservoir
The Ross Barnett Reservoir (affectionately known as "The Rez") is a beautiful lake that not only serves as the state's largest drinking water resource, but a great place for various outdoor activities. Here you'll find various parks, trails, picnic areas, disc golf, kayaking, or a place to just sit, relax, and enjoy some beautiful scenery. The Rez is very large and has many recreational areas to enjoy, but one great place to check out is Lakeshore Park, in Brandon!
Outlets of Mississippi
If you'd like to do some shopping while you're in town, check out the Outlets of Mississippi in Pearl! There are a wide variety of stores here and some great deals to be found. Bass Pro is right next door as well.
Trustmark Park
Whether you're a baseball fan or just want to enjoy some hot dogs and beer, catching a Mississippi Braves game is a great way to spend an evening!
Dogwood Festival Market
The Dogwood area in Flowood is another great place to go shopping, or even just pick up any essentials you may have forgotten to bring with you! Almost any store you could need can be found just a short trip down Lakeland Drive.
Fondren
The Fondren neighborhood in Jackson is a must see while you're in town. It features some of the city's best restaurants and bars, a few boutique style shops, and a fun, quirky vibe. Find a place to park and go explore!
Surin Of Thailand
While you're exploring Fondren, be sure to grab a bite to eat at Surin. It's the best Thai restaurant in town and one of our faves. Be sure to try the Tom Kha soup as an appetizer!
Brent's Soda Fountain
Another can't miss in Fondren is Brent's Drugs, an old school soda fountain-- featured in the movie The Help! Breakfast and brunch here are especially delicious, and so are the milkshakes!
The Apothecary at Brent's Drugs
If Brent's has you in the mood to travel back in time, be sure to visit this speakeasy style bar located at the back of the restaurant. Their menu changes seasonally but always features a wide variety of unique-- and delicious-- cocktails. If you like to keep it simple, you can't go wrong with their beer and shot combo.
Deep South Pops
Deep South Pops features a variety of homemade gourmet popsicles, all made from fresh ingredients. But more importantly, it's the best place to get coffee in Jackson.
Pho Huong Vietnamese Restaurant
Pho Huong is the ONLY place to get good Vietnamese food in Jackson! Be sure to try one of their amazing smoothies as well-- they're made with fresh fruit! Our favorite is mango with boba and jellies.
Cathead Distillery
Cathead is the first and oldest distillery in the state of Mississippi. They are known for their vodka, but recently came out with a great bourbon as well! At the distillery, you can take a tour, or just have a drink and play some cornhole.
F. Jones Corner
F. Jones Corner is located in the Farish Street Neighborhood Historic District in Downtown Jackson. Here you'll find live, authentic Delta blues, great drink specials, and a friendly neighborhood feel. Best of all, it's one of the only places in the city open til 4 am!
