Answer

The ceremony will take place at 3:00pm at Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 5701 N Redwood Drive, Chicago, IL. The cocktail hour and reception will be held from 6:00pm to midnight at Pazzo’s 311, 311 S Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL.

Question

Answer

Please kindly respond by July 15th, 2026. The RSVP portal will close promptly following that date. If you do not RSVP by the deadline, you will be marked as “not attending.” We would love to celebrate with you, however, we have to provide an exact guest count to our vendors and will not be able to accept late RSVPs.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We adore your little ones! However, we have chosen to host an adults-only celebration, with the exception of children in the bridal party. We hope you will enjoy a lovely evening out.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is formal, black tie optional. We encourage tuxedoes or dark suits for men, and floor-length gowns or elegant formal dresses for women. Please refrain from wearing white, thank you!

Question

May I bring a date?

Answer

We are only able to accommodate guests who have been formally invited. If a plus-one has been extended to you, it will appear under your name in the RSVP portal. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

We are having an “unplugged ceremony” and are requesting no phones or cameras for this portion of the event. We have hired professionals to capture this moment for us and we will share our photos once received. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you like!

Question

I’ve never been to an Orthodox Christian wedding ceremony, what should I expect?

Answer

In the Orthodox Christian tradition, marriage is considered a holy sacrament; a sacred moment where a husband and wife offer their lives to each other and to God. The congregation often stands for the majority of the ceremony as a sign of reverence. The service will last about 45 minutes to an hour. You will notice some beautiful traditions throughout our ceremony. Our wedding program will walk you through what’s happening and why, so you can enjoy each moment with us.
