IT WASN'T LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT...

09/26/2020

It started back in 2008 when Matthew & Emily both were attending William L. Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ where they were both born and raised. Throughout the 4 years of High School, they never engaged with each other, barely made eye contact in the halls, not even a Hello. Emily knew who he was as so did Matthew for Emily. They always had mutual friends, inside and outside of school, although they never crossed paths. Until the year of 2009, in Emily's Physical Education class. Minding her own business and making conversation with a friend, little did she realize, this will be the first and last time, her and Matt will speak to one another for 6 years. Matthew being the trouble maker he thought he was, skipped his class and was in hers. While talking her friend, what he maybe thought was too loud or too obnoxious for his taste, stopped in front of her, looked at her direction, and said, "Shut The **** Up! You talk way too much!" Not a great first impression AT ALL! I immediately, being who she was, was disrespectful right back to him. They went about their business for the duration of the period, pretending their presence were non-existent. They never spoke after that day, until July of 2013 where strangers would eventually become more than they ever imagined. The rest is history which includes a huge move to Winston-Salem, NC to start a brand new journey in our life and an unexpected, more SUPRISINGLY, pregnancy announcement that lead to our now 3 year old, Jaiden Daniel. Let me just say, we are not perfect. After all of the up's and down's, the back and forth, It wasn't all worth the 12 years, but worth the 6 years. 6 years later, realizing, "Wow, who wouldve thought, that you would be it for me. Made for me? Can this be real? You and I?". Then another 6 years, of learning to be a team. It taught them to grow, learn to be patient and kind. Life tested them and THAT was #WorthThe6.
