In Asturias, opening the first barrels of cider (sidra) is a celebration and the word for this opening is espichar, from the Spanish word to pierce. The celebration of doing so is an espicha. This will take place in a llagar with the apples and barrels. You are closer to the cider than you’ve likely ever been. This evening will be similar to that of a cocktail party with small bites (pinchos/tapas), and of course the traditional Asturian drink sidra. Shuttle service will be provided from San Lorenzo Beach (La Playa) with stops made at designated hotels TBA. Attire - Smart Casual: Think blouses, polo shirts, button-downs, chinos, dress pants, dark-wash jeans, and practical footwear.
