In summer of 2006, Stuti moved to Issaquah to attend Maywood Middle school. This is where she met John Lorenz in orchestra class, glaring at his sheet music. As a new student and a scared 7th grader, Stuti didn’t approach John at all during this time. They went to the same school, attended the same classes, and were even in the same clubs together. They sort of knew of each others’ existence, but never really acknowledged each other. It wasn’t until Sophomore year of high school that Stuti was forcefully placed in a group with John during Honor’s European History. John hadn’t really noticed Stuti until then, all he knew was she was kinda weird and would fold origami flowers during class. Stuti didn’t know much about John either, and mostly thought he was a slacker because he didn’t seem to study for tests but would still ace them. They started noticing each other more in their shared classes, clubs, and events. They talked more, started competing against each other, and then finally started dating. They dated for 3 years before going their separate ways during college. John went to the east coast to Duke University, and Stuti stayed near Seattle to attend University of Washington. A few years after graduation, they would reconnect over dinner, share many dates, and come to the conclusion they wanted to tackle life together. John proposed to Stuti on July 24th amidst her favorite flowers. They couldn’t be happier and are thrilled that you are here to share in this exciting new beginning of the rest of their lives!
