Edward and Katie enrolled at Life Pacific College in the fall of 2014. They became closer friends as the school years progressed, majoring in the same degree program, Transformational Ministry. Edward and Katie almost traveled on a study abroad program, but became closer friends anyway. They were grateful for each other's friendship as graduation came and went in 2018. But once they were apart, they realized they had feelings for one another. Through "not dates" as "friends" and more time spent together, they started dating in February 2019 and after a few months of dating, they knew they found the person they'd spent the rest of their lives with. Edward's inkling that Katie might be the one was confirmed when he noticed she lived right around the corner from a Taco Bell (they have a large mutual love for that comfort food!). Due to COVID-19, Edward waited 5 months for Katie's ring to arrive after placing the order, but he was finally able to propose on August 14, 2020 in Rocky Mountain National Park, near Estes Park, CO.
