MIA or FLL
MIA and FLL are the closest airports. MIA is Miami's regional airport. It is approximately 20 minutes away from wedding site. FLL is Fort Lauderale's regional airport. It is approximately 45 minutes away. Checking FLL is worth it even if it is a bit further away. MIA is a hub for American Airlines, Delta, and United and FLL is a hub for Southwest, Frontier, JetBlue, and Spirit.
Travel Note
Uber or Lyft
In Miami, we do not recommend renting a car due to lack of parking spots, tolls, and parking/valet fees. Uber/Lyft is the way to go, even if you fly into FLL.

AirBNB/VRBO is available in Miami. Be selective as not all neighborhoods are safe. We haven't lived long enough in Miami to know all the neighborhoods, but we can say this: Coconut Grove - yes. Wynwood - yes if noisy and hipster is your thing. Coral Cables, near the UofM, yes. Edgewater, yes. Brickell - yes. Also, we would not recommend booking an AirBNB in Miami Beach because it is illegal.
