Picture this: Madison, 2018. Halloween. She was dressed as Cheech (to Lauren's Chong) and he was dressed as a fitted sheet ghost. He questioned her knowledge of Lil Dicky and she didn't care enough to pretend to know more than one song. They didn't hit it off. But Sam had been referring to Elana as "hot Cheech" since that night and was hoping upon hope that he would one day see her again. Fast forward two years to that first COVID summer. A bonfire at the same house where they first met. Sparks flew. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Elana and I stumbled upon each other at a festive Halloween shindig thrown by Trevor. I started making conversation with a woman I nicknamed "Hot Cheech" (Not you Cheech, this one was hotter). I knew more about Lil' Dicky than she did. The party just began to get going and Hot Cheech left with Chong. Years later, Trevor hosted a much needed backyard party. I was working on perfecting my best Jack Skellington on lawn furniture while being harrassed a beautiful woman. It was hard to tell if it was her without her mustache or exposed shoulders but I learned it was Hot Cheech. We exchanged names again and I went back to my lawn acrobatics while being teased by Elana. It was obvious she was interested in me to everyone at the party, but not to me. I was focused on lawn acrobatics... A few days later, I stumbled upon Elana's online dating profile. Excited and nervous, I waited an entire day before coming up with the perfect pick up line to win her over: I "hearted" one of her pictures. After a few days of messaging back and forth, Elana insisted I have her number. We eventually went on a date, meeting at one of the finest establishments in Madison, The Paradise Lounge. The rest is history.
