I first met Katharine at Obed and Isaacs, our favorite beer garden. It was my first happy hour with HSHS, and I didn't know anyone there. So naturally, I sat next to the cutest girl, who happened to share my love of golf and craft beer. We easily got along, and I was able to share some insight about Springfield, IL to this cute, strange Iowan girl. It was love at first sight, and I couldn't wait till the next happy hour so I could see her again.

I asked Sam to take me to a sunflower maze near St. Louis when the flowers hit peak season. Little did I know that a ring would accompany us on our journey. The sweltering heat didn't keep us from enjoying the day and Sam popped the question after pretending to tie his shoe near the end of the maze. He managed to record the whole thing and sneak a bottle of wine in to celebrate.
