Fun fact: Stuart and I went to the same elementary school, middle school and college but we didn't talk until I was his bartender after college!! I knew of Stuart, he was on the football team for Heights, where as I was the dork who the mean librarian would let take books home over the summer. Never in a million years would I think Stuart would give me the time of day. The summer of 2014... roughly after 8 months of being his silent bartender who always had his bud light tap ready when he sat down... we finally talked. The more we talked, the more we couldn't stop thinking about the other. We slowly discovered that we had met our soul mate. After some time of fighting that fact, we realized that the love of your life is worth everything and the risks you take to make sure it doesnt slip away. On August 23, 2014 Stuart planned an entire surprise day for me. He took me to a bunch of places I’ve never been, including where we ended our night, the Comedy Club on State. At around 10:30PM, Stuart pulled me aside while we waited in line and asked me to be his. (We ran into some friends of mine and I invited them to come with). It’s not exactly how Stuart planned it, but it meant everything to me ♥️
So there was this fluffy little puppy found walking around on a jobsite on an Indian Reservation in North Dakota... he looked full blood rotty and unfortunately they shoot certain dog breeds on sight there. So... the person who found him, brought him home to Wisconsin. Stuart & I were fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to become Gimlis parents. He’s been the biggest blessing this life has given us. 🐾💚
Stuart asked me in September of 2015 if I wanted to get married first or buy a house... I chose the house 😜.
Stuart finally caved and let me get another dog and a little brother for Gimli. Pippin was picked up by a gentle soul who saw him get thrown out of a truck window going down the highway. We feel very blessed to have the opportunity to give this baby boy a life full of love. 🐾💙
On October 10, 2014 Stuart and I went to our first corn maze together. Little did we know, it would become our yearly tradition. So naturally, on November 3rd, 2018 we went to our challenge corn maze. Those of you who are not familiar with Treinen Farms... they hide 10 hole punches throughout the maze. It usually takes us 3 hours to get through. Well, we were a few hours in, looking for the 7th hole punch, and all of the sudden I hear Stu, “I found one over here!!” Now, you have to realize that I’m the map queen so Stu usually follows me or I give him very specific instructions on where to look... so... I was like, “well wtf, where are you, i thought you were following me!” Anyways, i found him and there was a bag hanging on the stake with the hole punch. I was really baffled. I looked inside and before I could realize what was happening and that there was a ring box, Stu grabbed it and got down on one knee (in the mud)..... I think I’ve pictured it happening so many times that i couldn’t fully process that it was real. I OBVIOUSLY said, “YES!” and Stuart proceeded to shut the box and hug me... after a hot minute I realized I didn’t even see the ring lol. All in all, Stuart had the ring for 3 weeks and was waiting for the right time... he did good y’all ♥️
Yet to be written....
