We are here to prove the old adage that timing is everything. Many people might not know that Stuart and I first met in 2016 when we swiped right on Tinder. We went on a first date that would hopefully turn into a second but then was not our time. Fast forward four years, to the year 2020. Although this year stands out to many as a challenging and difficult year, for Stuart and I it was the best year of our lives. We saw each other on Bumble and again swiped right. We both remembered one another but couldn't seem to recall why we didn't go on a second date. On Valentine's Day, Stuart and I went to a movie, had drinks and then dinner for our "second" first date. It was on this date that we both knew we had something special. Throughout the rest of that year, we met each other's friends, family and it was obvious to everyone that we both had found our perfect match.

As Meghan said our, second, first date was on Valentine's Day, we went to the movies and then went to Clyde's at Willow Creek for dinner. In April Meghan bought us the Adventure Challenge Book Couples Edition (highly recommended) and one of the dates we scratched off was "Reenact our first date down to what we wore (if possible)." Well April was in the height the pandemic so that means no movies and no restaurants, so we had to delay that date. Coming up on our nine months anniversary Meghan was in Pittsburgh visiting her parents, so I took the time apart to devise the perfect plan. While Meghan was gone I went to Clyde's at Willow Creek to speak with the manager in person to make sure the night would be perfect. Unfortunately due to COVID the George Washington Dining Room had been reset for social distancing, but thankfully they agreed to reset the room so the table would be in the same place as our first date. Did I also mention I reserved another table for a hidden Photographer to capture the moment in both pictures and video? Meghan was on to me from the beginning though so I had to keep fabricating excuse after excuse for all the weirdness. She was suspicious as to why Clyde's, why reenact our first date and why the same close, but luckily she answered all those herself with the Adventure Challenge Book she got us. She then caught me suspiciously conversing with the server when she came back from the bathroom (we had been laying out the plan of events), but luckily my Groomsman Rick gave me the perfect alibi that I was trying to help Ashburn-Sterling Lodge get a Masonic portrait of Washington hung in the GW Dining room there. Finally dinner was over, dessert ordered and my hands had been shaking all night, so after the server took a few pictures for our Challenge book I told Meghan the real reason we were there. I got down on one knee, I told her 2020 had been the best year of my life because of her, and I asked her to be my wife. you'll find it all on FB.
