Sara: "Matt and I met, to my surprise, on a dating app called Hinge. Honestly, I was pretty hesitant to try it because I didn't expect to meet the type of guy I was looking for on a dating app. Looking back now, though, I can see that God knew exactly what he was doing. How else would the two of us have met, being so settled in our separately places: me, in the Chicago suburbs, and him, in Milwaukee? A few of my friends had suggested getting on Hinge, but I put it off for a long while. Slowly, as I heard more and more success stories of people finding their match online, the idea of trying it out began to grow on me. Finally, after talking it through with my friend Kelly one night in December of 2022, I decided to give it a shot and made a profile. So, I 'liked' his profile and waited to see if we'd match." Matt: "I saw Sara's Hinge notification pop up on my phone and was immediately stunned by how beautiful she was and how important her faith was to her. The line from her profile that stood out to me was, 'I'm looking for someone who is pursuing a relationship with God, whether I am or am not in the picture.' I didn't want to lose the chance of talking to this girl, so I quickly wrote up a message and sent it right away. " Sara: "Once we started chatting, we never stopped. Matt was the first guy to message me on the app, the only one I messaged with, and the only Hinge match I'd eventually go on a date with. Not a day has gone by since then without talking with one another. We found that we had an unbelievable amount of things in common, including shared values, hobbies like running and making music, and a similar sense of humor. Within a week of matching on Hinge, Matt asked if we could FaceTime. A few days later, we went on our first date, spending hours together walking through Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve and then chatting the afternoon away at a local coffee shop. As we continued to get to know one another, we both realized we had found the person we would want to spend the rest of our lives with. There have been too many 'God moments' throughout our journey together for us to count, like little miracles that have confirmed to both us and our loved ones that we were meant to be. We both see our relationship as one of the greatest gifts given to us by God, and we are so excited to partner through life together to share the joy of Jesus with as many people as we can. To some, our love story is simply another match made on Hinge. But to us, it seems more like a match made in heaven."
