We're getting married!

The actual first time the couple crossed paths was when Ian was visiting friends in Eugene at U of O and accidentally parked in Amanda's spot in the driveway... let's just say she wasn't thrilled that some random car was in her spot and she had a passionate discussion with her roommates about the situation. She clearly made an impression because when their paths crossed again in December at an ugly Christmas sweater pub crawl in Portland, they started a conversation and the rest is history!

Ten years, three states, two graduate degrees, and one dog later... After several visits to Eugene and Portland, they made things official in early 2012 even though a few short months later Ian would be moving to St. Louis for medical school. That summer they road-tripped together to St. Louis before spending the next almost three years in a long distance relationship. They reunited in 2015 when Amanda moved to St. Louis for her graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology. In summer 2017 after Amanda's graduation and Ian's residency intern year they moved to Seattle with a new family member Andy, "The Adventure Dog". Andy convinced them to make things official in 2022!

After joking about a Ring Pop proposal for years due to Amanda's love of candy, several delays in the delivery of her engagement ring made the joke a reality. On a rare sunny day in January, Ian proposed to Amanda on Mt. Tabor in Portland, OR with a "back up" ring from a local Seattle jewelry store and a Ring Pop. Andy was wearing a bow tie as requested, and she said "yes". Her Ring Pop was upgraded a week later.
