It started through a friend (McKaylee) that I, Lauren, worked with at Sauk Valley Community College. McKaylee asked me if I wanted to go roller skating the day before Thanksgiving in 2019. I went to the roller rink at White Pines, and there I met Kaleb for the first time. After a few months of dating we split up, but continued talking. However, in summer of 2022 I was working at CfUT (Center for Urban Teaching in Milwaukee) I get a message from Kaleb wanting to talk. After talking over the phone we decided to get back together. I saw him again for the first time in Lake Geneva towards the end of July. Then in December 2025 in Sinnissippi Park where the park use to end in the grassy area, he asked me to marry him.
