I met Rach during the summer of my high school junior year. It all started from a group Snapchat from some girl I barely knew of. Who knew it could take us this far? From the day I met her, I knew she was the one. She has been my best friend and partner through thick and thin. The 4 years of juggling a long distance relationship, various life transitions between school and jobs, LOTS of driving, and LOTS of sass made me realize how thankful I am to have someone like Rachel by my side. She challenges me every day to be better and love better, which I am forever grateful. From her outgoing personality and beautiful smile, to the best friend someone could ask for, I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her. Cheers to that Snapchat!

Since my freshman year, I always had my eyes on Evan. To this day, I still remember all the times passing him in the hallways of WBHS just wishing he would say hey. Fortunately for me, I am no stranger to persistence! With a new sense of confidence after getting my braces off (lol), I sent a mass snapchat to reveal my grill-less smile and added Evan to the list. He responded with, "Whats up cutie" and the rest is history. I still remember the gas station I opened that snapchat at, and my mom still remembers me freaking out saying "OMG Evan Stringer just snapchatted me back!" From being at different schools, to different states, and all the other life transitions in between, Ev has been the yin to my yang through it all. Thank you all for joining us in this momentous occasion!

Evan and I met in middle school after he recently had moved from South Carolina into the same neighborhood I lived in. Our friendship grew throughout high school, which led to us being roommates together for our first three years in college. These three years are a time I’ll always be grateful for!! Evan wasn’t just a friend or a roommate, but someone I can look up to and that makes those around him better! I’m so pumped for Rachel and Evan to officially begin their lives together, and it has been a blessing to see them grow individually and together over the last 6-7 years!! Heres to forever to two of the most caring, generous, and loving friends you can ask for!!
Maid of Honor
Rachel met Julia one fateful summer night at Anna’s brick oven in Williamsburg, Virginia. What began as an attempt by Evan to occupy Rachel during a slow summer in Toano quickly blossomed into a rambunctious friendship between Julia and Rachel. Now, both girls enjoy being asked if they are sisters, publicly embarrassing themselves and their respective engineers, lifting heavy weights, and consuming wine and cheese. You are likely to find them cultivating Instagram stories at a rooftop bar or tearing up a tennis court.

At the beginning of our junior year, Evan & I started studying for our classes together & we became really close friends. Without even seeing our future home, we signed up to live on Center St for our senior year. We had every class together, worked on senior design, & were roommates. Through all our time dealing with drunk strangers in our apartment on game days, taking care of Laney as a puppy, and spending all night building an airplane we grew even closer and it became one of the friendships I will always cherish the most. As our friendship grew, I also got to see firsthand the love Evan and Rachel have had for each other and saw it grow through the years. I am very excited for them to take this next step together and for what the future holds for them together as a family.

When I first met Rachel, I was very hesitant of her at first since we both had the same middle school love interest and she was the other girl (I guess she moved on?) But, with the prettiest curly hair & most outgoing personality,it quickly became difficult to not become great friends with her. Soon enough, Rachel and I’s friendship developed and we bonded throughout the years over our mutual love for soccer. She was always the fastest, most passionate & tenacious player on the field, yet the goofiest, most charismatic person off the field. I am so grateful for our friendship of over 8 years now together, & cannot wait for her to begin her new journey in life as a married woman! She is one of the best friends I have ever had, & I am so thankful I get to share her special day with her & Ev!

It was 1996 when I became an uncle at the ripe old age of nine. Told every kid in my school, whether they wanted to know or not. I started wondering "what does a 10 year old uncle do for a newborn nephew?" Lucky for me, I found out my responsibilities were limited. It was mainly "Seth, don't hold him like that." "Seth, he's asleep, stop being so loud." Moving forward several years and I got to watch my nephew graduate from Virginia Tech as an Aerospace Engineer. You talk about proud! Every step of the way it seems like he strives for the best, and I don't think he cut any corners when he found Rachel. I've watched you continue to grow since the day you were born, and I can't see what you can accomplish next!

Rachel is my younger sister by 6 & 1/2 years but if I’m being honest she has always been so wise beyond her years that at times she has felt like the older sibling! There isn’t enough space on a page for me to talk about all the amazing qualities my sister has- we share the same sense of humor, she’s my go-to fashion guru, and is all around my best friend! She doesn’t know a stranger, has the kindest soul, and has always given 100% to her goals. It truly makes my heart smile knowing that she gets to marry Evan. He has been the best addition to our family since day one. They have always been the cutest couple around and compliment each other perfectly. From high school, to college, to now beginning their adult lives together, I am so excited for this celebration of their love!

I met Evan our sophomore year at Virginia Tech and am a better man because of it. We lived together our junior year and after his 21st birthday, I knew I had groomsman in the bag!!! The first day of our senior year, I was sitting in Evan’s apartment when I received my first job offer on the phone. He and Juan, without hesitation, looked at each other and said: “Shots?!” I will never forget sharing that moment with them. Although we may not live right across the hall from each other in Sturbridge or be a two minute walk away down Center Street, our relationship continues to grow. I am so thankful to have Evan as a brother, honored to stand beside him on his wedding day, and privileged to champion his relationship with Rachel forever

Rachel and I met through my brother, obviously, and have pretty much been close ever since. I always knew of her because we went to the high school, but had never met her until my brother brought her home. I don’t exactly remember the first time we met, but I’m guessing it went well because now she’s like a sister to me. I can’t wait for Rachel to officially be a part of the family! I’m excited to see how Rachel and Evan’s relationship grows and I hope the best for them both now and always. Separately you are two very special people, but together you are complete.

I met Evan back in middle school when he first moved to Roanoke and was living at The Orchards Apartments. We attended middle and high school together as well as playing on the golf team our junior year. We both ended up going to college at Virginia Tech where we lived together our sophomore year at The Edge apartments. Throughout college we played paintball for the school’s club paintball team and would work out together when we had the chance.

Let's throw it back to about 2008 or fifth grade at Green Hill Park, the year I met Rachel. I remember always hearing the name "Rachel Nicely" & associating it with a phenomenal soccer player and a girl who would become one of my very best lifelong friends. Throughout middle school, we played soccer together, met up at our lockers (Rachel's was UVA themed -- boo), and spent our summer days at AguaNet. In high school, we both were repeatedly late almost everyday for school, did the most in the dog pound, & got through the promposals. Then came college- our friend group spread out across a few states and our time spent together was less, but our friendship never dwindled. I was lucky enough to find a best friend in Rachel at a young age and I am even luckier to still have her by my side!

Evan and I met at work where we do the same job: pretending we know what to do. When you sit next to someone for ten hours a day you tend to get to know them pretty well. So I'm glad it was Evan sitting next to me. Once my wife Julia & I met Rachel it was clear they were an amazing couple who shared many of the same interests we did. Now Evan and I enjoy fixing things that aren't broken & making the most of the weekends under the direction of our significant others. I'm so glad Evan decided to take a job out in West Point, VA because meeting Evan & Rachel was one of the best things to ever happen to me. I am honored to be a part of their special day and I am looking forward to being their friend for many years to come as I watch their relationship become more awesome by the minute.

I became friends with Rachel in sixth grade because we had lockers next to each other. While I thought she was pretty cool, she did wear skinny jeans and tennis shoes which was the biggest fashion disaster of 2008 in my mind. Fortunately, we still become friends and Rachel has definitely improved her fashion sense. Some of my favorite memories with Rachel were playing soccer together all throughout middle and high school and just being goofy. We laughed way too much in afternoon school announcements, were the best guidance runners of WBHS, and were consistently late to school. She is a one of a kind friend and never fails to make me laugh or celebrate my birthday ;) I am so grateful for our friendship and I can’t wait to stand beside her as she marries her best friend!
