Michael and Chloe go way back... All the way back to middle school for Chloe, when she and Catherine Campbell were best friends. Chloe's path to success was a little different than Michael’s. Chloe went off to college at Savannah College of Art and Design, knowing that she wanted to develop her craft. She studied Fashion Design - not knowing that her passion for live painting would soon become her profession. And now she has been to more weddings than she would have ever imagined. Michael on the other hand followed his father's footsteps in becoming an Optometrist. He went to Clemson University and then was off to Indiana University School of Optometry. After school, Michael moved back to Hilton Head to work with his Dad and thought he was going to have a hard time finding a woman. Little did he know he was going to find the love of his life with a quick slide into Chloe’s Instagram DM’s. Chloe turned Michael down on his first attempt to take her out for drinks…but 3 weeks later she asked the future love of her life to happy hour at Calhoun’s Tavern in Downtown Bluffton. Once Michael saw Chloe walk up on their first date, he knew she was the one - 15 years later!

Michael had a big secret hidden from Chloe. After months of planning, Michael decided the best time to pop the question was the weekend of Heritage 2021, knowing that he wanted all of their family to be there. With the help of Lilly Strickland, Catherine Campbell, and Mikaleen Lawrence, Michael successfully planned the best moment of his life. He told Chloe he was going to take her out for a nice dinner before the wildness of Heritage weekend started. Before dinner, he asked Chloe if she wanted to go on a walk to the new Bluffton dock to watch the sunset. His heart was racing the whole walk leading up to the big moment…as they arrived at the dock, there was a path of rose petals leading to the water where he got down on one knee and confessed his love to her. Chloe had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Michael swept her off of her feet and she said YES!!
