If you visit Arlington, check out Courthaus Social! They're a fantastic beer garden and German-American eatery. They're around the corner from the Courthouse metro station, so it's easily accessible for people staying in both Virginia and D.C.
This warehouse brewery and bar is located in Navy Yard, and is another one of Jason and Abby's favorite haunts. Their buffalo dip and Lost Weekend IPA are a treat!
This restaurant is a D.C. must-have, and we recommend getting reservations a few weeks in advance for weekend bookings. This is a classic restaurant in the area for an upscale Italian dinner with huge portions. We ALWAYS take food home. Their Linguine Cardinale and dessert selection are to die for.
Abby's favorite french restaurant. Located in Georgetown, it has an upscale french countryside atmosphere. They do have a dress code (men must have coats). Their chocolate soufflé is heavenly, and they have a wonderful seasonal menu.
This place is one of our favorites for breakfast, and their lunch options are delicious as well!
If you want delicious coffee, we recommend Ebenezer's! It's located down the street from Abby's workplace, and Jason took her here for their first date!
This is a fantastic and intimate french restaurant option. Jason took Abby here for her first birthday they spent together, as well as the night of their engagement!
One of Abby and Jason's favorite beer gardens, inspired by Jackie O! Its outdoor area is located right next to the river in Navy Yard (as well as the D.C. National's Stadium, if you want to catch a ball game).
If you're visiting Old Town Alexandria, grab a cup of coffee and an empanada at Killer ESP Tea and Coffee! They feature Julia's Empanadas, a local company, and have great chai lattes!
There are a bunch of Compass Coffee roasters in the area, and we recommend them for a great local cup of coffee!
A staple D.C. restaurant with great brunch and dinner options! If you go for brunch, we recommend their beignets and chicken & waffles!
This is also a D.C. staple restaurant. Located next to the White House, it's a common choice for tourists and locals who work downtown.
If you like Vietnamese food, or need a variety of vegan/vegetarian options, doi moi is a great option. It's located in the U Street area, which has plenty of other fantastic places to eat and relax! They serve their food street cart style, and have great fresh daiquiris!
Great spot for brunch on the water in Georgetown!
If you don't mind trekking out of the city, Bear Chase Brewing is about 1 - 1.5 hours outside D.C. and is Abby and Jason's top pick for local breweries. Located at the edge of the Shenandoah Mountains, and you can't beat its scenic views paired with a great beer.
Great spot for easy hiking just outside of D.C.!
Any of the Smithsonian Museums in the D.C. area are a great place to spend a day!
