We met on Halloween night 2015 at Franklin Park in Brooklyn, New York-- and here is the story~ Vaughn and Stresson saw each other from across the room, locked eyes but continued about their night. Later in the evening, Stresson decided to get Vaughn's attention by walking over to him and tapping him; but she tapped a bit too hard. Vaughn turned to Stresson after she tapped and remarked, "Your hair is dope," as Stresson apologized profusely for tapping him a bit too hard. Both parties parted ways, with Stresson feeling disappointed that the conversation did not go further. Moments later, Stresson decided to exit the establishment and go outside to sit on the benches to 1. check her phone for an Uber, and 2. wait to see if Vaughn would exit so she could speak to him. While Stresson was outside, Vaughn did exit and approached Stresson. The two sparked a conversation, and Vaughn pleaded for a dance stating, "Can I have one dance; it's my birthday?". Stresson gave in to his persistent requests, and the two danced the night away. Before the night ended, Vaughn verified that Stresson was single, and then asked for her number. Three days later, Vaughn reached out to Stresson, and their love story blossomed.

2020 was a rough year, and we were all 'inside' for our birthdays. So, Stresson organized to spend her birthday with a small group of friends. Unknown to Stresson, Vaughn reached out to those friends to inform them of his plan. Additionally, Vaughn reached out to her and his family to be a part of the day, both in-person and virtually. Stresson's friends all gathered on the patio of the restaurant and she walked in expecting to spend the day just having a glass of wine. Vaughn walked in behind her with a birthday cake and an additional box. While Stresson was mingling with her friends, Vaughn called her over to hold the box while he organized the cake. Stresson took the box and noticed the box had cupcakes with a sign that read, "Will you marry me?" Vaughn then dropped to his knee as both sides of the family slowly started to walk in----To say Stresson was caught off guard is an understatement!
