Matron of Honor - sister of the bride
Rachel and I have been besties since I was born. Our early years were spent in typical sister fashion.. her dressing me up, curling my hair, bossing me around, (breaking my arm that one time)… But since growing up that relationship turned into a deep friendship. My sister is selfless and tough and the best listener.
best man - Brother of the groom
I met Jon when I was born (he was 6, I was 0). I was the best Christmas gift he ever received. A lot of decisions I have made in my life simply boil down to “that’s what my brother did," which has proved a worthy strategy so far. I have always looked up to my brother, and am so excited for him to stand next to me on our big day.
Matron of Honor - Friend of the Bride
Madeline and I met early on at Bethel and became fast friends by our shared commitment to adventure. Whether it’s driving 17 hrs to Colorado to spend 24 hours in the mountains, driving 30+ hours (because we got lost) to California for a few days of beach time or basically any other excuse to get out of MN, I know Madeline will always say yes. She loves hard and shows up for her people.
Best man - friend of the groom
Pat and I got close through sharing a 10'x10' bedroom in our barely livable college house. He is now my doctor, and by that I mean WebMD has been replaced by a quick photo sent to Pat to find out whether or not something is fatal. Whether it's health related or just life related, Pat is my go-to because he always shows up. He's thoughtful, consistent and a genuine friend.
Friend of the Bride
Kristi is the reason we are in Alaska every few months. We met at Bethel, where we she was the captain of our volleyball team. Between phone calls almost every day and visiting each other as much as possible, we’ve crushed the long distance game. Kristi is the life of the party, my go-to stylist, and an incredibly loyal friend.
Friend of groom
Cooper and I became good friends while on a cruise. I figured if we could get along great in a windowless cruise room with 2 bunk beds, then we could get along anywhere. That has held true as we became roommates for 5 years and now will be a part of each other’s weddings, one month apart.
Friend of the bride
Dara and I became quickly inseparable after meeting freshman year at high school volleyball tryouts. From school night sleepovers, to her convincing me to run track (running is the worst?), we basically did everything together in our formative years. She is ruthlessly unique and effortlessly kind.
friend of the groom
Bosio (Michael) and I met in 6th grade basketball tryouts. We were both small forwards and had the same name so a rivalry naturally formed. That rivalry turned into best friends and has stayed that way for 16 years. Michael is an amazing friend and an even better husband and dad.
friend of the bride
Between 4 years of nursing school, a study abroad trip to Taiwan, and a few way too long road-trips with way too many flat tires, Anna and I have been through our fair share of ups and downs together (most of the downs being nursing school). We share a love for tiny babies and work in the NICU together. Anna is the most humble, warm and feisty person I’ve ever met.
friend of the groom
I don’t really know how I met Jacob. He just started showing up sophomore year of college and we’ve been friends ever since. Jacob is fiercely loyal and the person to show up for his friends no questions asked.
brother of the bride
Our family jokes that Joe needed a little brother, but instead he got me. Most of our childhood consisted of him treating me as such, renaming me “Karl”, teaching me how to tackle, and encouraging me to keep up with his friends. But despite all of those fond memories, I always ended up sleeping on his floor at night. I look up to him in the ways he chases after what he wants. He’s ambitious, brave and always trying something new.
sister of the groom
Even though Steph is 3 years old than me, I spent a good chunk of my childhood sleeping on her floor to protect her from monsters. She has repaid me for this bravery by moving to Miami so that we have somewhere warm to visit. She is always getting herself into the craziest adventures and meets friends easier than anyone I have ever met.
brother-in-law of the bride
Aria joined our family when I was 12. I thought he was the coolest because he shared my two loves at the time: basketball and John Mayer. 13 years later, our passions have changed, but we've stayed close. He is energetic and fun and goes out of his way to make everyone feel included.
Sister of the Groom
Nicole has always been the most mature one in the family (including my parents) and I have learned so much from her. She’s given me another home away from home, great advice, and most importantly my nieces’ extra halloween candy every year. She is an incredible sister and an incredible mom.
sister-in-law of the groom
The newest (soon to be) member of our family. I am so excited for Jon to marry Upuli. She is an exceptional addition to the family, even taking on making a traditional Sri Lankan meal for Christmas last year. She brings new traditions, new recipes, and a warm, kindness to the family.
friend of the groom
Pat and I met when we were both one year old, while in a diaper study for Kimberly Clark. Our parents used us to get free diapers (not sure on child labor laws at the time). Our friendship grew as we played basketball together in Neenah and then later on as roommates throughout college. Pat is unique, trustworthy and a great dancer.
