Eight years, two kids, and one big, beautiful life we've been able to carve out together. We met in the Fall of 2009 when neither of us were interested in finding the other. A business meeting between artists who had never met turned into a whole night of conversation between two like-minded new friends. We shut down the coffee shop we were at and had to move to a place across the street so we could keep talking. He brought a bouquet of white daisies to the meeting and had no idea why, not realizing that white daisies were one of my favorites. I thought he was wild and handsome and fearless with his green shoes and purple sweater. He says he knew that night, the first time he saw me and completely unexpectedly, that I was his wife. He has spent everyday since letting me know that, making me feel it, and doing a whole lot of convincing me early on that it was true. After a few months friendship, weekly flowers left at my doorstep, and lots of grace on our clumsiness, we started dating and fell in love over Speedway hotdogs. We became an instant family with our Max and added Phoebe girl 2 years later. We've been working and creating together, supporting, cheering, balancing and anchoring each other ever since. Our art brought us together and we're so excited to celebrate our marriage with the ones we cherish most, in one of the most beautiful places in Dayton at the Art Institute.
