Question

Is there a dress code for the Wedding?

Answer

Costa Rica is a tropical and warm destination! It’ll probably be in the 60’s in the evenings and up to high 70’s during the day. On the day of the event, please wear casual beach wedding attire. This can be as a simple as a flowy maxi dress or tea dress for women and slacks with a button down shirt for men (long sleeve or short sleeve) raw linen and light fabrics are advised. For shoes, sandals, thick heels, wedges are recommended.

Question

What language do they speak in Costa Rica?

Answer

Spanish, but no worries everyone speaks English as well!

Question

How is the weather in April?

Answer

Manuel Antonio is in the middle of the rainforest and beach, so it will be humid with slight chances of quick rain showers. The weather will be in the 70 - 80s!

Question

Tipping & Taxes?

Answer

Colones but most places charge in dollars as well. You can get both Colones or US Dollars from the ATM. Try to pay in dollars if the bill is in dollars and colones if the bill is in colones. Some restaurants have their own exchange policies, better pay in the currency they are charging to avoid this. Every restaurant will charge you 10% service tax ( it is a tax usually divided by all the serving staff) and 13% sales tax. If you feel that the service was fantastic, any tip is greatly appreciated specially because waiters salaries are ridiculously low in CR. However it isn't mandatory.
