On April 15th, 2020, we matched on Hinge in the midst of a pandemic. Since lockdown prevented us from meeting in person right away, we texted constantly and had a few FaceTime dates. Finally on May 15th, 2020, exactly one month after we matched on the app, we were able to meet in person. Lauren went to David's apartment (bold for a first date but it ended up working out!) where he impressed Lauren by making his homemade risotto and playing “Clair De Lune” on his piano. Over the next few months, we saw each other almost every weekend and were finally able to go on our first public date at Boordy Vineyard. On July 19th, 2020, we decided to make it official. On June 9th, 2024, David popped the question at Patterson Park in Baltimore while we were taking Balto on a walk. David created the most perfect proposal including some of Lauren's best friends and of course, Balto. Afterwards, we went to brunch at one of our favorite spots in the city, Annabel Lee’s, and then had a drink at our favorite neighborhood bar, The Canton Local (where we ended up taking some of our engagement pictures!) After celebrating with friends, David surprised Lauren by inviting his family over to Lauren’s parents' house so we could celebrate with them as well. It’s a day that we will cherish forever. Since meeting, we have traveled to 6 countries and 7 states and love spending our free time smothering Balto, cooking together, trying new restaurants, playing board games, and experimenting with cocktail recipes. We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives together and appreciate all the love and support from our closest people.
