Kelly's family has a house at the Lake of the Ozarks. Katie Ferkel was bringing a few friends down for a short weekend, and when they pulled up to to the house Kelly was riding around cutting grass on the lawnmower (little did Matt know, that was the last time Kelly would ever cut grass). After the lake, Matt subbed on the sand volleyball team a few times, and would come over to the condo where Kelly and Katie were roommates. Matt had traveled to Mexico with some friends, and we communicated with WhatsApp, where Matt proposed the idea of going out on a "real date" when he got back. Our first date was at Prasino in St. Charles, where Kelly ordered a salad and somehow even managed to spill that on the table. A few months went by, and before the Team Jakey walk, Matt proposed the idea of being "official". After Kelly said she wouldn't want it on Facebook, Matt posted it right away! Since then, three years have gone by. We have traveled to several cities, states, countries, and even 1 continent in that time. We have celebrated weddings of friends', as well as family members weddings, and welcomed new nephews into the family. Our story is just beginning...

Three years to the weekend we met, we were headed to the lake for our annual “Brazill lake weekend”. During family pictures, Matt got down on one knee and asked Kelly to marry him. His parents were able to join in on the fun and make the trip as well... and somehow her family kept the surprise a real surprise! Kelly’s grandma, Nana (dads side), was ever so generous to pass on her wedding ring making the moment that much more special. We couldn't be happier to take our relationship to the next level, and have all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us as our next chapter begins.
