FAQs

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While your children are loved, we are requesting an adult-only event so that everyone may relax and enjoy their evening. The only children in attendance will be limited to the wedding party and select family members. The bride & groom appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so that you can celebrate with them.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

This is a semi-formal event. Our wedding colors are ivory, champagne, gold, green & plum. We would like to do a group photo in the park after the ceremony so we encourage coordinating or complimentary color options. The bride kindly requests that you refrain from wearing all white.

Question

Why so much time between the ceremony and cocktail hour?

Answer

First, group and family photos will be taken post-ceremony in the park garden. Second, check-in at Pier B isn't until 4pm (3pm if you stay under the Holiday Inn block). That means that anyone planning to arrive in Duluth on 8/24 will need to check into their hotel room after the ceremony. We wanted to provide enough time for guests to get settled in their rooms and freshen up before heading to cocktail hour. You may request early check-in, but it is not guaranteed.

Question

What if there's inclement weather the day of the wedding?

Answer

In case of bad weather the ceremony will be moved into the ballroom at Pier B, the same room where the reception is held.

Question

When should I book my hotel room?

Answer

As you may know, Duluth is a popular tourist town especially in the summer and fall seasons. While there are many hotels in the area, we strongly encourage you to reserve your lodging as soon as possible. Wedding room blocks are available at Pier B Resort and the Holiday Inn downtown. Please call to make your reservation under the block.

Question

Please Note:

Answer

We are limited to 100 persons at Enger Park per our park permit. Parking at Enger is also limited. We will be providing a shuttle service from Pier B to Enger Park and back. If you choose to drive, we encourage carpooling to the ceremony when possible. While the park pavilion and garden are part of our reservation, Enger Tower is still open to the public and there may be other patrons parking as well. No alcohol is allowed at the park. There is a bathroom on park premises.

Question

Registry

Answer

In addition to the items listed on our registry we would also appreciate gift cards for Etsy.com, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Menards or Gertens.
