Our first date

March 13, 2015

Brian and I technically met at my brothers birthday party when we were too young to remember. We never thought over 2 decades would go by, as our lives intertwined with each other’s, before we’d actually meet. We have similar stories about places we both were at the same time thoughout our lives. The same concerts, the same parties, the same events. I have no doubt in my mind that we were always meant to be together, but only fate knew when the time was right. I’ll never forget when I finally went on a date with Brian. It was February 2, 2015. The Seahawks had just had a hard loss in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots. It was a Monday, which I had off. We had plans to go to dinner at Bahama Breeze. I hated going on dates. I wanted to stay home and hang out with my dog, Tug. Anyone who knows me, you know this is very accurate. After a long day of deliberation, we ended up going to dinner. We had fun laughing and getting to know each other. I still remember what I got to eat and it was delicious! After our date, Brian drove me home and dropped me off. I wouldn’t say sparks were flying from the second we met, I was very interested, but I thought he only wanted to be friends. But once he got home, he told me he’d like to take me out again. We spent almost every day together after that. On March 13, 2015 Brian asked me to be his girlfriend.

5 years together

Over the last 5 years, we’ve done some exciting things. We’ve been to Mexico twice, we’ve been on numerous road trips, Brian has bought and sold 5 trucks and 2 4Runners (haha!), we sold our house and moved our lives over the mountains to Easton & Cle Elum, we lived in a trailer, we bought land, we built our home, we added two more dogs to our family, and so much more!

Engagment Story

November 18, 2019

On November 18, 2019, I got home from work, once again on a Monday. Brian was excited to show me the chairs he’d put together on the back deck. He told me I needed to put down my stuff immediately and go look. As I opened the back door, I saw the chairs, flowers and a sign that said “Nicole will you marry me?” Brian got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Of course I was shocked and immediately thought it was a mean joke! Once I had a second to take it all in I said “yes!”. We can’t wait to marry each other with the support of our families and friends by our side.
