Charlottesville is a special place, and we can't wait for you to visit! Here are a few of our favorite spots. UVA & The Corner: Head to The Corner and get a Bodo's Bagel or Take it Away sandwich with extra House Dressing (W&M folks - its the same as Williamsburg's Cheese Shop) and have a picnic on the lawn behind the Rotunda. Other great restaurants include Boylan Heights (a staple of Story's UVA career) and The Virginian. Downtown Mall: Grab coffee at Mudhouse and walk around. For a good diner brunch (or milkshake) head to The Nook. Other great restaurants here include C&O, Hamilton's, Lampo Pizza, Birdhouse, Monsoon Siam, and Continental Divide (awesome Tex-Mex, but there is no sign!). Quick eats: Feast (Diana's favorite), Bellair Market (Yes, we know it's a gas station, trust us), and Ivy Provisions are great sandwich spots. Belmont: A block of amazing restaurants. The Local, Mas, Tavola. You can't go wrong! The area also has wineries, hikes, and history. Here are the best:

Humpback Rocks

Blue Ridge Parkway, Lyndhurst, VA 22952

Our favorite hike near Charlottesville! If you are going to do one hike while you are in town, this one is it. In less than an hour you'll reach the top with amazing views overlooking the Blue Ridge. (Grab a sandwich from Feast or Bellair and pack a picnic.)

Thomas Jefferson's Monticello

Visit the home designed by President Thomas Jefferson. Both Monticello and UVA are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Book tickets online for a 45 minute tour.

Saunders-Monticello Trail

A flat walk with gravel and boardwalks. A great activity to pair with a visit to Monticello.

James Monroe's Highland

Carter Mountain Orchard and Country Store

Get in the fall spirit with a trip to Carter's. Apple cider donuts, apple picking, pumpkins... they have it all.

Ragged Mountain Nature Area

1730 Reservoir Road, Charlottesville, VA 22902

A semi-flat wooded trail system around the Ragged Mountain Reservoir. (A fun option if you like to trail run.)

Keswick Hall

A beautiful hotel across the street from Friday night's party at the Hunt Club. Great spot to grab a drink, or dine at their restaurant Marigold.

Virginia Polo Center

1082 Forest Lodge Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22903

UVA Women's team has a home game on Saturday at 2:00 PM. The Hinckley family loves a polo game and has spent a lot of time at UVA's polo center. (If attending, be sure to keep an eye on the clock to make the wedding bus! There will likely be traffic around Charlottesville from UVA Parents Weekend.)
