Travel & Getting to the Area

Our wedding events will take place in the Fair Haven and Lake Bomoseen area of Vermont, with the Welcome Party at the Lindsay Family Lake House in Fair Haven and the Ceremony and Reception at The Lake Bomoseen Lodge in Castleton. There are several good ways to travel to the area, and guests may choose whichever option best fits their plans and itinerary.
Question

By Plane

Answer

The airport we typically use when traveling to the area is Albany, NY (ALB), which is generally the most convenient option for most guests. Albany is approximately a 1.5–2 hour drive to Fair Haven and Castleton and offers consistent flight availability and a wide selection of rental car providers. Guests may also consider the following airports: Burlington, VT (BTV) — approximately a 1.5–2 hour drive, with a smaller airport experience and an easy drive through Vermont Boston, MA (BOS) — approximately a 3.5–4 hour drive, with the largest number of flight options New York City (JFK / LaGuardia) — approximately a 4.5–5 hour drive, suitable for guests combining time in the city with the wedding weekend A rental car is recommended regardless of airport choice, as it provides flexibility for getting between the lake house, the lodge, and nearby towns.

Question

By Train

Answer

For guests traveling from New York City or nearby, the Amtrak Ethan Allen Express stops in Castleton, just 10 minutes from Lake Bomoseen. We recommend planning ahead to rent a car or coordinate a ride with family or friends to make your journey easy and enjoyable.
