We met in 2010, in our 8th grade leadership class. We clicked so well that by freshman year we were best friends. By the end of freshman year, we saw feelings were there. May of 2012 we decided to risk our friendship to see if we’ll work out. A few months into the relationship, we knew it was real. Who knew at 13 years old we met our person we will say “I do” to almost 14 years later.

Our usual date nights generally consists of the simpler things. Binge-watching our favorite shows, cooking together and watching a movie at home eating takeout. One thing we love doing together is seeing all the views the PNW has to offer. We don’t get to go often, but we love to go hiking and see the breathtaking view from the top together. We took a drive out to Rattlesnake Ledge to go on a mid-day hike. There is a lake at the bottom with lots of open land that we just had to see because we have never been down there before. Tyler set up the tripod we brought to take some photos together. It was so windy where we were, I’m sure he was worried about that being an issue. Little did I know I was going to get a beautiful view and an even more beautiful ring from my favorite person in the world. The wind slowed down at the perfect time and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The wind stayed calm throughout this moment and I knew it was a sign. That was the easiest yes of my life.
