Lexie and Beau met during bible study in November 2022. Lexie was brave enough to walk into an unknown house with a bunch of unknown people. To her relief, the night went well, only worried that she was the oldest. She pulled Charles aside as they were leaving for the night and asked him how old he was... he replied with his age and thankfully it was older than her, so she was set. She committed herself to joining group for the long haul. Beau had been hosting the bible study group for a little while at this point when he met Lexie during the bible study. Who knows who stuck up the conversation first, but Lexie quick hopped to biblical conversations and Beau was quite impressed. For the first time in his life a woman was DM'ing him regularly talking about God and asking genuine "get to know you" question. Beau up to this point prided himself on being the one to ask the questions and getting to know the other person, but found himself answering all the questions. He wasn't even sure there were that many questions a person could have ready to ask. Over the course of the next few months, Lexie and Beau got to become friends as they attended the bible study. Lexie had a knack for planning events that help bond the bible study group together forming a solid long lasting young adult group. July 2023 Beau mustered up the courage to ask Lexie on a date. For their first date, they went on a hike along a river and up a mountain. They ended their night watching the sun set and talking the whole time. There was no awkwardness or lack of conversation which made Beau very relieved. The night was a success. Turns out, before the date Lexie didn't realize the date was a "date". It was only after her friend made her aware that she learned. Beau thought this was how dates worked. A boy asks a girl to hangout just the two of them...date. From there, Lexie and Beau went on their journey together through highs, lows, sickness, health, learning about each other until the day Beau decided to propose. She's the one. Nothin' else to it. Lexie and Beau are now heavy into wedding planning and figuring out how they will live their lives together.
I met Beau at a Bible study he held at his house. A friend of mine, Pam, had been encouraging me to meet people my age since she is my mom’s age and decided I needed younger friends, so I decided to attend. Pam and her friend Bonnie were trying to find people I could connect with, and at first, Bonnie mentioned that Beau was younger, so I thought everyone in the group would be really young too. After the Bible study, I asked Charles, another guy from the group, how old he was because I thought if everyone was really young, I might not come back. When Charles told me he was just one year older than me, I figured it was alright to keep attending. I don’t remember much about the first time I met Beau, but I do recall that he made a point of inviting everyone to a Friendsgiving dinner, even though it was my first time at the Bible study, he said I was invited. I thought that was nice, even though I didn’t think too much of it. I did not attend Friendsgiving. Over the next few months, Beau and I became friends. I started planning activities for the Bible study group, and we spent more time together. Beau was always friendly, thoughtful, and made an effort to involve everyone and make sure everyone was comfortable at Bible study. Our first official date was a walk by the river in Ogden. I wasn’t sure at first if it was a date, but when Beau said he was going to pick me up, I thought maybe I should ask. After that, we hung out for a week, but then we didn’t continue dating. A few months later, Beau invited me to pass out candy with him and his roommate, Zach, on Halloween. When Zach bailed, Beau told me the plans were still on. I asked him why Zach had backed out, and Beau replied that Zach thought he was being a good “wingman.” We had a great time, but it wasn’t until a few weeks later that Beau officially asked me to be his girlfriend. Throughout my time getting to know Beau, what first stood out to me was how thoughtful he was and how he always made an effort to ensure the comfort of others. Through the highs and lows we’ve experienced together, we’ve grown and learned so much about each other, ourselves, and God. When he proposed, I was overjoyed and grateful that he took the time to make the moment special by including my family and incorporating things that mattered to me.
Lexie and Beau met at bible study that was being hosted at Beau's house on a Tuesday night. Beau was certain Lexie has been to group in the past sometime about a year before. The following Sunday in a large group Beau asked Lexie if he has seen her before, she replied with confusion "Yes, this last Tuesday". Beau looked at her and then to the group and realized how his question came off... He has forgetten about Lexie... He would never live it down.
