On June 7, 2024, Ford Motor Company and Michigan Central welcomed Detroit and the world back to the iconic Detroit landmark with an epic opening night concert on the front lawn of the once-abandoned building. After standing vacant for 34 years, becoming an infamous symbol of Detroit around the world, the building was acquired by Ford Motor Co. in 2018. Over the past six years, more than 3,100 skilled-trades people worked 1.7 million hours to restore what many thought couldn’t be done. We both love history and museums, so toured the Station the week it opened to the public. We were immersed in the memories, as well as excited for what is to come. Check it out! Fun fact: Jenn's mom, Ann, worked in the original train station as a teenager, sorting mail!
Supergeil is another one of our favorite places in Corktown for its artsy, eclectic vibe and flare for fiery German and Turkish flavors. This restaurant is inspired by the energy and food of Berlin’s Kreuzberg district. Not unlike Corktown, it is a neighborhood on the edge of center. It’s a multicultural place where artists, students, and Germany’s largest Turkish population live together. Enjoy this same experience at the edge of Corktown, Detroit!
