We're getting married!

Allison and Tom met in 2015 while attending the University of Richmond. They were first introduced by mutual friends at a house party at the beginning of Tom’s senior year. They quickly hit it off and started dating later that semester, but since Tom was moving to the West Coast after graduation, Allison wasn’t sure if their relationship was going to last. Fortunately, they decided to stay together and give long distance a shot. Tom began working in San Francisco and Allison finished her final year at Richmond. After a long year full of FaceTimes and cross country weekend visits, Allison graduated and joined Tom in SF. They spent the next few years exploring California and enjoying the Bay Area food scene. In 2020, they moved into an apartment on Polk Street and adopted their best friend – a Boston Terrier named Wally. These days, you can find the three of them on “family walks” through the Presidio or waiting in line at Allison’s favorite ice cream shop, Salt & Straw.

After seven years (which he now understands is far too long), Tom wanted to make sure his proposal was worth the wait. They had planned a vacation to the French Riviera for that summer, so he arranged for a photographer to capture the big moment. On August 13th, 2023, as the sun set in the background, he (finally) proposed to Allison on the beach in Cannes. The next day, they were on a ferry to Saint-Tropez when they received a panicked email from the photographer – his memory card had run out of space at the wrong time, and there were no photos of the proposal! Instead, the moment will live forever in the memories of Allison and Tom, along with the hundreds of French beachgoers who witnessed the moment. We are so grateful to all of our family and friends, and we can't wait to celebrate with you all soon! See you in Charleston!
