We both worked for Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, but worked in different locations. I received a promotion and became a manager at David's branch in December of 2015. We instantly became friends and loved to joke with each other while maintaining the professional manager/subordinate relationship.

I received a job offer for another company and was leaving Desert Schools. On my last day, the whole team went out for dinner and David paid for the both of us. I was wondering if this could mean something but didn't push the issue. A couple of days later, I had to attend training for my new job for a week in another state. David reached out and asked if he could bring something to my house. He showed up with flowers and a kiss and we were inseparable ever since.

On December 22, 2017, I came home from work and David was eating something and asked me to hand him the box of cookies that his boss's wife had made. I lifted the box to hand to him and noticed that it was extremely light. I opened the box and the ring was sitting in it. Immediately I started crying and David started laughing. He then asked me to marry him and my response was "Yes. You're fat, you WOULD ask with food." That may sound mean, but if anyone knows us, they know how much we love food and making fun of each other. We are so excited to spend the rest of our lives with each other!
