Riley and Zach both attended A&M, just a couple years apart. They met through Twitter, when the A&M account retweeted Riley's graduation pictures. They exchanged numbers and had their first date at an Aggie Football game. Zach lived in Houston and was about to leave for 6 weeks to work offshore, so they had 3 dates that first week. He drove up and back 3 nights in a row for the football game, then dinner the next night and finally to Santa’s Wonderland, a Christmas light exhibit in College Station. Their connection was instant, which was evident as they continued to grow closer while Zach was away. Distance became normal for them as Riley moved back to Burleson after graduation. They felt commitment and communication were keys to making it through a long distance relationship. There were many hours of FaceTime dates and phone calls and they both made sure to see each other every few weeks. Zach proposed in July on a family trip to Minnesota. Riley recently moved to Houston to start her own career and their lives together.
