We met at Liberty University when we were both invited to play volleyball by friends who lived on the same hall. We both noticed each other from across the court. Glances were shared, smiles exchanged, jokes were said. That was pretty much the end of it. Jon was afraid to come talk to me for a week. Bethany was looking for me for a week. But then I (jon) scheduled a volleyball game with friends so that I could see her again. We went to church for our first date and then the rest is history.

It was the day after my birthday and Jon told me that he wanted to take me on a sunset cruise to celebrate. It was seriously like any other day. I hung out with friends, helped him grab the dinner for the cruise, and helped him set up the boat. I seriously had no idea it was coming. As he drove the boat down Long Creek he played all of "our songs" (I know, how did I not see it coming? lol). We anchored the boat in the bay, ate dinner and even stopped for gas. Jon eventually ended up pulling up to a beach where I saw a trail of sunflowers leading to a jar of sand that he had given me 3 1/2 years ago. Thats when I knew he was asking me. Inside the jar was a miniature "message in a bottle" where he had written special promises to me. After reading that one I saw there was another "message in a bottle" that read "I would love to marry you someday. Will that day be today?" Of course I said yes!!! I could not believe he knew he wanted to marry me that long ago. Then we went to my families house and had a party. It was the most amazing day of our lives and we cant wait for February 23, 2020!!
