We Swiped right and the rest is history. Shalekiah was the Feature Editor of her college's newspaper and was researching and doing an Editorial piece on the similarities between Arranged marriages and online dating. She had no Idea that she would chat with her future husband. Steven was checking out tinder in all its glory, while enjoying the life of a single man. He did not anticipate that he would swipe right on the girl that would take his heart and his last name. They chatted for months and then finally decided to meet up for lunch at Black Tap..Steven and Shalekiah laughed, and talked for hours. So much so, that they did not realize there was a whole noreaster outside. Rain poured from everywhere, but it felt as if they were on a sunny beach. Their smiles radiated, and it was as if they were the only two in the bar. They didn't want the day to end, yet it quickly became night: In which the two, walked and talked in the rain, hats and hair swaying in their own magical rythm of bliss and banter. The two settled down to dry off, while enjoying pancakes and coffee at Ihop. To sum it up, they thought eachother were flipping awesome and the rest is history. ;) We Swiped right and the rest is history.

Black Tap bar, the one with those huge, viral milkshakes with desserts on top of them is the first place we ate and laughed together. However, steven recalls shalekiah being 3 hours late, which shalekiah vehemently denies each time. Although the time in which they met is blurry, one thing is clear: the love was right on time.

After month's of preparing and planning for this MAGICAL NIGHT... [w\ Serina & Kevin] This time our Annual Cruise was going to be UNFORGETTABLE in CARNIVAL MAGIC DAY2 ON SEA [10:04:39 AM] Steven making a quick video on his phone in the balcony of their room explaining that tonight IT'S ABOUT TO GOOOO DOWNNN...while Shalekiah is in the bathroom getting ready for the day not knowing that just in a {F}ew hours she's going to be a.... [12:28:58 PM] Steven & Shalekiah are enjoying their day on the lido deck with the family {Mommy, Serina y Kevin} embracing the view and dancing, w{I}th some Tequila Sunrise on hand ;-) [02:12:49 PM] Steven & Shalekiah go to deck 12 to play a quick g{A}me of golf... He wanted to go through memory lane of the first time they had their first cruise together back in 2017... [02:56:45 PM] After enjoying a walk around the ship, they reunited with the family, Steven tells Shalekiah that he will be back needed to go back to the room a{N}d go the "Bathroom". He had other plans.. [03:45:22 PM] Steven goes to guest service, and asked if it was possible to use the screen on the Lido deck to pop the big question. The concierge told him had to speak to the {C}ruise director Simon but he was available after 4 and they would be able to discuss what they can arrange for this special night... Guess Steven has to tell Shalekiah that he needs to go to bathroom in the room once again soon LOL... [04:18:22 PM] Simon asks Steven around what time is he planning to pop the big question, in which Steven said roughly around 8ish or whatever time the TV screen was available. Simon unfortunately told Steven that the screen wasn't available, but as they were looking at the cruise agenda and at 9 PM the movie MARRY ME will be playing which they decided that it was going to be the perfect moment before the movie began to pop the big qu{E}stion... [06:58:40 PM] Steven & Shalekiah go back to the room, to get ready for night to go eat dinner with the family. While Shalekiah is taking a shower Steven goes out to the balcony and does a quick Vlog of what this epic night is going to b{E} looking like. [08:00:00 PM] The family reunites in front of the dinning hall as we wait to get seated, Steven is looking at the time and some what panicking because by 8:55 the family needs to be going to the lido deck to watch "MARRY ME"... [08:45:38 PM] We finally get seated at a nice big table but Steven tells Shalekiah that he needs to go to the bathroom. He runs to the Lido deck and ends up running to Simon's assistant in the elevator and he see's her with champagne bottle. Steven asks, are you heading to the lido deck for a proposal by any chance? she like YESS :-). Steven lets her know the proposal just might have to be pushed up to a further time. He meets up with Simons and let him know that the family is still in dinner and needs to push the proposal after the movie. They agree that the proposal will be at 10 pm. [09:31:28] Steven goes back to the dining room in which Kevin tell's Steven, Sha is not looking good, she's feeling a bit sea sick. Steven's is like OHH BOY, where is she? Serina took her to the lido deck to get some fresh air. Steven gives the ring box to Kevin [10:00:28 PM] As the movie is finishing and Shalekiah is feeling better, Steven is looking around to see if Simon is around to let him know he was there and ready. ITS ABOUT TO GOO DOWNNN. [10:46:58] Simon gets on the mic and asks the people around how they liked the movie and comes to Steven and asks him how did you like the movie? Steven tells him, he liked the movie and that the movie just might have something in common OH OKAYY. [10:47:37 PM] Steven asks Simon for the mic, Ms. Shalekiah Monique Patrice Barton, I REMEMBER ON OUR 2ND CRUISE, I GAVE YOU THIS PROMISE RING AND TOLD YOU THAT I PROMISED YOU WE WILL ONE DAY BE MARRIED. I THINK, ITS TIME TO FINALIZE IT (reaches to Kevin for the assist) (passes the ring box) WILL YOU MARRY ME? SHE SAID YESS!!
