Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence at our destination wedding is the only gift we need! We sincerely appreciate the time, effort, and expense involved in traveling to celebrate with us in the Riviera Maya. More than anything, we are simply grateful to have you there to share in our special day.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the venue?

Answer

We want your arrival and departure to be as smooth as possible! While we won't be providing organized shuttle services, there are several easy ways to arrange your ride. If you are staying at an All-Inclusive Resort, we kindly recommend checking directly with their concierge, as many resorts have services or preferred vendors that can arrange transportation to and from the venue for you. For all other guests, details regarding our recommendations for private transfer companies and tips for coordinating ride-sharing from both Tulum and Cancun can be found on our Ground Transportation page. We encourage everyone to utilize pre-booked services for an stress-free experience. If you have any specific questions or concerns about transportation to the venue, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly!

Question

What about currency exchange?

Answer

The official currency is the Mexican Peso (MXN). While U.S. Dollars are accepted in many tourist areas, we highly recommend using Pesos for the best value on purchases and tipping. 1. The Most Cost-Effective Option: ATMs Using a reputable bank ATM in Mexico is the most cost-effective way to get Pesos, as you receive a favorable exchange rate. • Safe Locations: Bank-operated ATMs (like Santander, HSBC, or Banorte) are the best choice. For convenience and security, several ATMs from established banks are located inside the Chedraui supermarkets—a local favorite for safe cash withdrawals. • Tip: Notify your home bank of your travel dates to avoid card issues. • Key Step: When prompted by the ATM screen, always select to be charged in the local currency (MXN) and decline the ATM's offered conversion rate. This ensures your bank handles the exchange, which is almost always a better rate. 2. Credit Cards Credit cards (Visa/Mastercard) are widely accepted. Use a card that does not charge foreign transaction fees. When paying with a card, always request the transaction be processed in Mexican Pesos. 3. Cash Exchange (Casas de Cambio) You can exchange cash at authorized money exchange offices, known as Casas de Cambio, which typically offer better rates than hotels. Only use airport kiosks to exchange a small amount for immediate needs. We recommend a mix of cash (Pesos) for small purchases/tipping and a no-fee credit card for larger expenses.

Question

Are the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception indoors or outdoors?

Answer

All main events will take place outdoors to take full advantage of the beautiful setting and warm, comfortable evenings. Please note that evenings in the Riviera Maya can bring a beautiful, cooling breeze (average low is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. While the reception dance floor will be outdoors, there will be a dedicated indoor area available nearby for restrooms and retreat if needed.  We strongly encourage you to wear appropriate footwear for an outdoor event, as mentioned in our Dress Code section!

Question

What is the weather like that time of year in Tulum?

Answer

You can expect warm, tropical weather! Our wedding date falls toward the end of the region’s rainy season. While this means there is a chance of brief, heavy afternoon showers, these are often quickly followed by clear skies and sunshine. It is rare to have long periods of continuous rain. Temperatures remain warm and humid, creating perfect evenings for an outdoor celebration: • Average High (Daytime): Around 86 degrees Fahrenheit. • Average Low (Evening): Around 70 degrees Fahrenheit. We recommend packing light, breathable clothing for the daytime, a lightweight jacket or shawl for the evenings, and being prepared for tropical humidity!
