Our Story

We met in junior high. We first connected through social media and quickly realized we had mutual friends. Once we were officially introduced, we instantly became close. We bonded over our families’ love for hunting, our shared love for the outdoors, and the kind of inside jokes only best friends understand. We even had a fake pet lamb named “Babycakes” that we would take turns “taking care of.” We shared a big friend group but also had our own separate circles. During hunting season, we would joke about who the better shot was (we all know it was Sam). Summers were spent at the pool, seeing each other at Taylorsville Dayzz, and just hanging out with friends. Throughout junior high and high school, Landon asked Sam out a few times, but at the time, the feelings weren’t mutual. Sam played softball, and Landon played football, and we went to each other’s games with friends. We had classes together and remained close all through high school. After graduating in the middle of the pandemic, life naturally took us in different directions, and we didn’t see each other much anymore. In 2022, we reconnected when Sam reached out to grab dinner with Landon and her current boyfriend. We were excited to catch up and be around each other again. Not long after, Sam went through a breakup, and Landon was there. We found ourselves reconnecting in a deeper way. What started as a friendship felt just like it always had, easy, natural, and comfortable like two best friends picking up right where we left off. Eventually, we realized our feelings had changed. After some honesty and a little courage, we admitted the feelings were mutual. For our first official date, we spent the entire day together — starting at the museum, walking downtown to see the lights, and ending with dinner at Little America. We talked about our families, our dreams, and what we wanted out of life. Because we wanted to build something strong and intentional, we took our time before officially starting our relationship. After what Landon describes as “a grueling six months of waiting,” we made it official on July 17, 2023. Since then, we have fallen deeply in love. We’ve introduced each other to new music, new hobbies, and new experiences. Most importantly, we’ve grown in our faith and rooted our relationship in Jesus Christ. Together, we continue to pursue God and build our relationship on that foundation. We have loved every adventure along the way. Our relationship has taken us to four of Utah’s five national parks, fly fishing on the Beaverhead River in Montana, zip-lining through the jungle in the Dominican Republic, and cruising through the Bahaman Islands. Learning about each other, growing together, and navigating life side by side has been the greatest blessing. We are so excited to take this next step to become husband and wife. We cannot wait to officially spend the rest of our lives together, starting August 27, 2026 🤍
